Orland Park Welcomes Christmas Season with Holiday Festival
Holiday Festivities Return to the Village Center with Newly Added Holiday Parade
Orland Park, IL (November 16, 2021)- The Village of Orland Park officially welcomes the holiday season with the annual Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting ceremony on Sunday, November 28 at the Orland Park Village Center, 14700 South Ravinia Avenue. This year, the event includes a holiday parade with over 30 registered groups.
“Coming together as a community to welcome the holiday season is a long-standing tradition in Orland Park,” said Mayor Keith Pekau. “I look forward to spending the festive occasion with residents again this year as we gather to celebrate the season.”
Full festivities begin at 4 p.m. with a holiday parade down Ravinia Avenue from 151st Street to the official Village Christmas tree at Village Hall. The parade will feature local organizations, decorated vehicles, the Carl Sandburg High School Chamber Choir, dancers, a 14-horse charreada group and the special arrival of Santa Claus.
“We think the parade will quickly become a welcome tradition in Orland Park,” said Pekau. Schools, businesses, community groups and organizations are invited to participate in the parade. A limited number of spots remain. For more information and to secure a spot in the parade, contact Doreen Biela at email@example.com or call (708)403-6266.
The holiday market opens at 4 p.m. where guests can purchase ready-to-eat foods, crafts and holiday themed items.

The tree lighting includes a walk-through of the holiday décor. Be sure to check out the community trees, generously donated by the Orland Park Lions Club. The community trees were “adopted” and decorated by local area groups, families, businesses and organizations. The Orland Park Lions Club will be at the event selling trees from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on November 28.
Stroll the Candy Cane Hunt, sponsored by ComEd, to see how many candy canes patches you can find.
The event will include a coloring contest, holiday entertainment featuring dance and musical groups, children’s craft and visits with Santa.
